About Us

Craft in the City was conceived by Nottingham artist Anna French of Fizgig Glass in order to broaden the appeal and accessibility of craft making and bring that skill back into the heart of Nottingham.

It looks to continue the hand-crafting tradition which is embedded in the history of the region, through demonstrating and promoting the time, skill and dedication of the region's designers and makers who create high quality, affordable products.

In line with that, Anna wanted to develop a stage for designers and makers to exhibit and sell their products so the December 2011 Art and Craft fair was born.

The Craft in the City team consists of Anna, graphic and website designers David Hope and Julian Phillips from Designs of Hope.

Previous Events

St. Mary's Church June 2012

Craft in the City presented a spectacular summer Art and Craft Fair at St. Mary's Church, in the Lace Market, Nottingham. Showcasing some of the region's finest artists together with designers and makers of jewellery, ceramics, knitwear, paper crafts and textile art.
This special one-off Jubilee event celebrated Nottingham's heritage and its present day artists who also demonstrated their crafts. Performance, live music and food stalls were also sited in the grounds along with refreshments, Pimm's and local Real Ales.

Waterstones December 2011

Craft in the City debuted its first December 2011 Nottingham Art and Craft Fair in the Sillitoe Room on the 4th floor of Waterstone's, Nottingham
The fair brought together some of the region's best designers and makers of jewellery, glassware, pottery, ceramics plus much more.
This successful event took place over the four weekends leading up to Christmas.
